Ramblings of a Baltimore area Realtor: Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

Canadian ThanksgivingI am Canadian.  I have lived here, in the United States for over 21 years now.

I think it's important to my children, and to me, to celebrate our heritage.  I was born and raised in Canada and some of our holidays are different - Victoria Day, Canada Day, Canadian Thanksgiving and Boxing Day to name a few.  Perhaps my kids are lucky, they get to celebrate both Canadian and American holidays, along with a few English ones too.

Every year on the Sunday of the Columbus Day Weekend we gather with some of our Canadian friends that live locally at James and Laura's house for our Potluck dinner.  At the request of the hosts, I almost always bring Nanaimo Bars and everyone who attends brings a dish.  James cooks the turkey (turkeys) - hence the title of the event is now 6 Turkeys and a Hockey Stick (used to lower the turkey into the deep fryer).

So, to all my Canadian friends, Honorary Canadian friends and readers - Happy Thanksgiving!!
