Maple Woods, Catonsville, MD 21228 - 2020 Market Update August
Maple Woods is a small townhouse community located in Catonsville, nestled between Edmondson Ave and Baltimore National Pike (exits 14 and 15) from I695 off of Harlem Lane, close to Academy Heights. The community comprises 61 townhomes built between 1994 and 1995. The community is served by Westowne Elementary School (a brand new school located next door) and top-rated Catonsville Middle and Catonsville High School. The location is served by several MTA bus lines going into the City of Baltimore, Old Court Metro Station as well as the UMBC shuttle and is located between two exits from I695 close to I70. It is a quick commute to the Halethorpe MARC station as well as the West Baltimore MARC station. It is also conveniently located close to shopping - Safeway, Sam’s Club, Giant, LiDL, Walmart, Shopper’s Food Warehouse, and H Mart are all very closeby.
Maple Woods is a limited access community with only one access road to Harlem Lane which makes it nice and private, but the streets are serviced by Baltimore County for maintenance and snow removal. There is also great green space complete with deer and other wildlife that makes the neighborhood feel less urban. There are several different floor plans, each with 3 bedrooms and at least 2 1/2 baths, some with 2 half baths, some with 3 1/2 baths, all with finished lower levels (many have walkout basements).
There is no assigned parking in the community but residents find that there is plenty of parking for both residents and guests and the streets are serviced by Baltimore County for snow removal.
Homes in Maple Woods are in the affordable price range and during the past year have sold between $229,000 to $275,000 and with Baltimore County taxes, Baltimore City water and low Homeowners Association fees, this could be a great choice for new homeowners and those seeking to downsize. With so little inventory available and higher demand for homes in the area purchase prices are on the rise.
